Southern Illinois elopement at Garden of the Gods

Every time a client reaches out and asks us to shoot at Garden of the Gods I get excited. It is one of my favorite locations in the Southern Illinois Shawnee National Forest. I have been there at all times of the day and every time of the year. This time surprised us all when the couple had planned a spring elopement on the rocks at Garden of the Gods. We noticed it was starting to get very cold & after the couple said “I Do” the snow started coming down. That is one of the most fun parts about living in the midwest. You never know what the weather has in store for you so you just take what you are given. As an elopement photographer you do have a little more flexibility in planning rather than a traditional wedding.
